Ability can help
The broad and considerable experience enables development of access and independence within a wide range of medical and functional areas, as well as safety and maintenance of condition, for people of all ages and their carers.
Service Users often have a physical and/or cognitive disability, including brain injury, psycho-physical dysfunctions and dyspraxia or age related frailties.
We work together
Services provided to Care Managers and Care Home/Supported Living Managers are tailor made in collaboration with the manager, the service user, family and carers to meet the identified needs and specific goals.
We work in the relevant environment, and at times, that suits the service user and enhances the benefit of the therapeutic intervention.
Occupational therapy can help facilitate increased ability, independence, maintenance of medical conditions and safety for the service user as well as health and safety for carers and compliance with legal requirements. Reports detail assessment findings, recommends, specifies and costs items/adaptation required, enable immediate consideration of funding and purchase of equipment and adaptation. Manual Handling with people is another specialty often employed including risk assessment, creation of care plans, training in person specific and generic moving and assisting.
Enablement often includes guiding carers to facilitate improved abilities in the service user/resident.
